Corcoran's debut novel, The Powers of the Earth, and its follow-up, Causes of Separation, won the Libertarian oriented Prometheus Award for best novel two years running. He’s since published many other science fiction novels, and is also the author of hugely popular homesteading manual Escape the City. Corcoran resides with his wife and dogs on a 56-acre farm in New Hampshire and serves as a Republican member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
