We want your books to arrive in good condition and your digital purchases to work. If something goes wrong, contact support@ark.press with your order number and a short description of the problem.

This policy covers purchases made directly from Ark Press. Purchases through another retailer are handled under that retailer’s return policy.

Damaged, defective, or incorrect products

If your product arrives damaged or defective, or we send the wrong item, you may return it for a full refund. If you prefer, we can arrange a replacement when stock is available.

Ark Press covers necessary return shipping for these items. Your refund includes the amount paid for the affected product, applicable tax, and the original shipping charge attributable to it. If the whole order is affected, we refund the full original shipping charge. There is no restocking fee.

Please contact us promptly, preferably within 30 days of delivery. Photos may help us resolve the problem, but tell us if you cannot provide them. We may resolve a claim without requiring a return.

Returning a printed book because you changed your mind

You may request a return within 30 days after delivery. Books must be in their original, saleable condition, without added markings, stains, or damage.

Digital purchases are delivered through BookFunnel. Use the help option on your delivery page for downloading, reading, or listening assistance, or contact Ark Press directly.

If we supplied the wrong content, or a technical problem prevents you from using your purchase and we cannot resolve it within a reasonable time, we will refund the affected purchase, including applicable tax.

Cancellations and refunds

Contact us promptly to cancel an order. We can normally cancel physical purchases before shipment processing begins. Unshipped preorders may be cancelled for a full refund of the item and associated shipping.

Eligible refunds go to the original payment method. We aim to issue them within 10 business days after receiving a return or confirming that no return is needed, and sooner where required by law. Your payment provider may take additional time to post the credit.

Book 3 in an all-new series where the high school age male heroes are smart, tough, and resourceful—and hunting treasure from American history’s secret past is the greatest game of all. At an auction house in San Antonio, the hunters come across an antique powder horn from the Texas Revolution covered in strange scrimshaw symbols. These point to frontiersman and Alamo defender Jim Bowie. Better yet, they may be a clue to a hoard of treasure hidden by the infamous pirate Jean Lafitte.

Remember the Alamo—And Its Secret Treasure!

Fueled by mystery, grit, glory, and sandwiches, three modern-day teens uncover America’s history and forgotten treasures one adventure at a time. The hunters are Ben Prescott, 18—the researcher, the mystic, the trailblazer; Porter Rockwell, 17—the man of action, the social glue; and Latch McRae, 17—the mechanic, the gear man, the straight-shooter.

What was supposed to be a week of summer fun in San Antonio, Texas, for the hunters soon turns into a deep dive into forgotten American lore—and clues to a lost treasure!

At an auction house in San Antonio, they come across an antique powder horn from the Texas Revolution covered in strange symbols. These point to frontiersman and Alamo defender Jim Bowie. Better yet, they may be a clue to a hoard of treasure hidden by the infamous pirate Jean Lafitte.

Opposing the hunters is a naysaying podcast host, a descendant of General Santa Ana and a hater of all things Texan. Cos is determined to make sure people despise the heroes of the Alamo as much as he does.

Every clue draws the hunters deeper into a maze of swashbuckling secrets and Lone Star legends, where the past isn’t past and the stakes are pure gold.

Reviews and Endorsements
“The mystery and the adventure were a lot of fun, but for my money, the best parts were the historical discussions and tidbits sprinkled throughout the book. . . . It’s good. It’s clean. It’s fun. . . . Our heroes are solving a mystery downstream of those facts, and they have to stick to them if they’re going to find the treasure.”
—The Federalist
“Andrew M. Dare wants to renew popular culture by directly renewing its seedbed, literature, with stories that will inspire young men to prepare their minds, souls, talents, and imaginations to dream big and achieve big. That’s why he has written a new series of novels for teenage boys who crave adventure and knowledge, learning technical skills and unraveling historical mysteries. Call them Hardy Boys for the Twenty-First Century.”
—RealClearBooks.com
“If I’d read it when I was 13 years old, I would have thought it’s one of the greatest books ever written. . . . Ben, Porter, and Latch are fine protagonists, and the story moves along at a fast pace through a well-constructed historical mystery. . . . [The reader gets] a mixture of educational stuff with action, mystery, a little romance (that angle is handled quite well), and a little humor.”
—James Reasoner, Rough Edges
“American Treasure Hunters continues to deliver exactly what it promised in Book 1: competent, ambitious young men having old-fashioned adventures while learning real American history. . . . It’s Hardy Boys with modern tech, surfing, football, and podcasts, aimed squarely at boys who want to read about other boys doing cool, heroic stuff.”
